As with all businesses, I get asked all kinds of questions every day but I’ve compiled a short list of the most frequently asked questions in the hope that the answers to these may help you, as well.

How does it work?

For audio typing, simply dictate what you would like typed; email to me; I type the document and return to you via email or another agreed method.

But I don’t have any special equipment

That’s not a problem.  Do you have an iPad, iPhone or Blackberry?  If so, all you need to do is visit The App Store and there you will find many different apps to download relatively cheaply.

I am concerned about security of my typed documents

Not a problem.  I can return typed up Word files password-protected, if they are of a sensitive or confidential nature.  Any sound or Word files received by Type Like the Wind will be securely shredded once agreed and complete.

Type Like the Wind holds a valid Data Protection Certificate.

That’s all well and good, but how much does all this cost?

For a standard audio file (one person speaking, dictating a letter/document), the charge is currently £1.05 per dictated minute (as at January 1, 2017), with a minimum of £1.05 spend.  If you have a sound file totalling 5 minutes, then regardless of how long it takes to type up, the charge to you will only be £5.25.  For an audio file of a meeting with 2 or more speakers, please contact me for a quote.

If you would like an office presence (eg holiday/maternity/sickness cover), I currently charge £17 per hour (as at 1st May, 2016) plus mileage (currently £0.45p per mile).  * Free initial 1-hour consultation to discuss your requirements *
